I build software and like being able to show exactly how it works.

Looking for a Summer 2027 internship in software or applied AI

The AI had to
stay offline.

At Mavenir, I built a tool that answered plain-English questions about telecom inventory. Both the model and the data had to stay on premises. I ran Qwen locally and used LangGraph to translate questions into SQL and route them to the right database.

Read how it worked

I built a Streamlit interface and logged the routing decisions so I could see which database each question reached. I tested queries on a 1,000-row database, where a query took about 20 seconds.

In 36 hours, our team of four built a clinical workflow prototype that turns a conversation into a structured draft care plan. I worked on the speech-to-structure pipeline and the FastAPI backend.

Watson Speech handled transcription. We used watsonx to structure the draft and IBM Cloud services for storage.

Finding Screws

Our Arduino robot had two challenges: climb a slope and navigate a marked route around obstacles. I programmed line following from a colour sensor and obstacle avoidance from ultrasonic range readings.

The ultrasonic sensor is the pair of round transducers at the front. It lets the robot detect an obstruction before it reaches it.

A first week worth remembering.

I hosted virtual meetups for incoming engineering students, wrote two of the three Mystery Challenge tasks, and served on the judging panel. The incoming class was about 1,300 students.

Use the buttons or focus the board and press the arrow keys. Drive the orange robot to F without hitting either obstacle. Can you do it in seven moves? The start is at row 3, column 1. The finish is at row 3, column 6. Obstacles are in row 3 at columns 3 and 5.

At the start, row 3, column 1. 0 moves.

What if a study timer got more annoying the closer you got to the deadline? My team built an agent that escalated reminders, adjusted calendar blocks, and checked for a mock homework submission.

The hackathon build used Gmail, Google Calendar and our own demo feed. The replay here is just the countdown and escalation states.

Aerial image
segmentation

For my computer vision internship, I designed an object taxonomy and reviewed open aerial datasets to see where their labels and imagery matched the target task.

I’m building a PyTorch pipeline to compare segmentation models. The benchmark dataset and results are still in progress.

A little about me

I learn by building.

I’m studying Computer Engineering at U of T and looking for software and applied AI internships for Summer 2027. The part I keep coming back to is figuring out what a system should do when its inputs are incomplete or noisy.
